About the Mercedes Sprinter / VW Crafter brake light reversing + rear view camera
- This is ideal for the Mercedes Sprinter (2006-Present) and Volkswagen Crafter (2006-2017) to replace an existing brake light.
- This version also has a 2nd camera built in for always on rear view driving camera – makes this camera useful all the time whilst driving.
- The camera is a ball design and is fitted in to a larger overhang moulding to give it more overhang to see towballs etc.
- The ball camera can be angled up/down to give the ideal view.
- The image sensor we have installed is one of the latest generation 700TVL premium CMOS, which gives a really nice clear picture.
- The camera has the 4 pin plug on it’s fly lead.
- The camera is waterproof up to IP68.
- The original LED strip is used from the old brake light – this means no CANBUS warnings.

Image Sensor for Camera
This particular system uses the PC4089 1/3″ Hi-Res CMOS image sensor (not to be confused with the older technology low res CMOS), this runs at 700TVL and gives a really crisp picture with a good colour replication. We use 4xglass composite lens instead of the cheaper 2xglass, 2xplastic lenses, which cloud/fade over time due to UV exposure. With our camera you can be assured of good performance and long term reliability.
