The humble RCA phono cable. Most recognisable from the days of DVD players and games consoles, this type of cable has been a commonly seen connection method on reversing cameras for many, many years now. If you have an aftermarket in dash head unit, it is 99% likely that the connection method for the reversing camera will use this type of cable.<\/p>\r\n
We stock two types of phono cable. The most popular is a thin diameter type, with a red wire coming out from the connector on both sides. This red wire can be used in 2 ways : to carry a trigger from the rear light to your head unit trigger input (telling it when you are in reverse), or to send power from an ignition supply to the cameras red power in wire (to allow a camera to be used whenever the ignition is on). We call the red wire a trigger wire in out descriptions.
